The characteristic two-tone shades of these pigments result from the combination of light interference with the light absorption of the added colorant.
  	Color Travel Cosmetic Pigments	Merck		Based on either natural Mica, Silica or Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate flakes, coated with varying layers of TiO2 and/or Fe2O3, the group of Xirona® pigments contains a large variety of different color travel effect pigments. Whereas TiO2 helps to create interference effects, Fe2O3 is used to generate very intense color travel pigments of high coverage.
